WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Join us for an inspiring and hands-on workshop at the Culxr House in Omaha with local artist Zaleski! This Found Objects Assemblage & Collage Art Workshop is a unique opportunity to explore creativity using everyday objects, transforming them into powerful works of art.
We will be creating a found object collage on wood, with an emphasis on bringing new life to dried and found foliage. By incorporating scraped paints and found human-made goods, we will work through the practice of assembling a visual narrative in a way that honors, respects, and seeks to repay the generosity of Mother Earth.
Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, this workshop will guide you through the process of creating visually captivating pieces!

Zaleski is an interdisciplinary artist that is constantly pushing to cultivate a more sustainable art practice. She utilizes primarily found and repurposed materials to create in a variety of media, including paint, crochet and textiles, illustration, found object work, ceramics, and beyond. To create art in communion with Mother Earth requires and cultivates playfulness, humility, and patience; these tools allow Zaleski to contribute to the many unending dialogues within herself and the world around her.
